Self portraits

Hey y'all,

I don't know why i just said that like i am from Texas, I'm not! Anyway the point of the blog may take a little explaining. Last week I decided that I would do some self portraits. I've been reading about them for a while and I have read a number of sites that talk about Self portraits been a good way to become a better photographer because u have to thin about everything more carefully.

So I decided to have a go at it and see what I got. When i took the pictures I have no make-up and used a few props to help me create some different shots. There is one group of three pictures i took that all involve one of my favourites red hats. They are so similar but with different 'poses'. So because of this I have called these photographs the '3 of a kind'.

hey guys.

I recently celebrated my 18th birthday with my friends and family. After the party my friends stopped round at my house. The next morning i whipped out my camera and snapped away at my friends acting, pretty natural. I had a new lens to i had great fun messing around.

After putting the pictures on facebook I got great feedback. Here are some of them.






I have loads but I pretty much just hate uploading pictures on here. It's so difficult!

Christmas

Hi everyone.

I know it is now spring, and feels like summer today, so Christmas pictures seem a little silly to be putting up now. For some wierd reason Sunny weather makes me want to take pictures So I remembered this blog.

So here are some christmas pictures. I took these pictures whle we were putting the tree up. This year for the first time I can remember we had snow while we were putting the tree up.

Sometimes I really wish I always had my Camera

HI guys,

Don't you sometimes wish you always had your Camera with you. Don't worry this isn't a selling pitch for some new Tiny SLR because they would be silly to be honnest. An SLR camera, is meant to have large lenses, the Large screen that shows the picture (obviously just the digital ones)they can do so much but I love the size of my Camera. It looks professional, I know thats silly but it really feels professional.

Anyway back to the orignal idea for thsi post. It's been really cold and misty around England lately. Winter is definatly here. The last pictures I uploaded seem so diffrent and far away now.

I was in the car the other day (I am learnign how to drive, very exciting!) It was first thing in the morning, and the way teh light was falling throught the trees was so amazing. I really just wanted to run home grab my camera and snap away. Unfortuantly that would mean missing college, and an Exam which wouldnt be good. So instead I just had to live the moemnt rather than taking the pictures.

I do sometimes wonder, maybe when I am taking pictures; I sometimes miss the specatular views in real life. I am so busy making sure my ISO number is right. Everything is in the Camera and in the right place on the picture.

Do any other people agree with this idea. Do you sometimes think you have missed great pictrue because you don't have your Camera on you? or do you think you sometimes miss things because of the taking pcitures.

Uploading pictures

Hi,

I've been really ill for the past few days with cold/flu, but today I got my Camera out and messed around with lighting in my house. I will upload them soon. Here I have some pictures I took on my holiday, I hope you like them. I really enjoyed taking them. My Dad is a camera nut aswell so we really enjoyed taking pictures together.

My photography blog

Hey.

I wanna start of by saying Thank you for anyone reading this blog, it really means so much to me.

I thought I would start off by telling about my photography and things. So I am going to do a little Q and A thing with myself to give you soe info about me and photography.

When did you get your first camera?

I had my first camera as a child, a child 'toy' that took real pictures on a film but was much harder and more resiliant than normal cameras; it also had 2 eye holes makeing it easier to use for kids. But I only recently got my firt Digital SLR camera last christmas (2009-2010)

What makes you like photography?

I love that photography can capture moments and time with friends and people, I love looking back at the fun times with friends just messing about and more serious pictures like school and things. I also love that you can look at pictures and almost picture how a person you never met would be like.

what do you enjoy to photography?

I honnestly love all types of photography, at the moment a lot of the pictures I take are nature pictures, but this is mainly because my garden i always there and i can walk around taking picture, people aren't always there for me to take pictures of. So at the moment I have lots of picture of my graden, sunsets ect but I am trying to get some people to let me take there pictures.

Are you the only person in your family that is big on photography?

Actually I am not at all the only one a lot of my family are into photography. I have actually noticed that there seems to be a bit of a photography craze going on at the moment. A lot of people I know are really into photography. My dad and step dad have both had SLR cameras for a few year. My step sister is doing an art course at the moment, which involved photography so she has had a go and now brought her own camera.

Do you ever help the other photogrpahers you know?

Yeah, I have helped my dad and step sister with their photography by doing some modeling for them, although I am by no means a model but I enjoyed the experience and they enjoyed having someone to take pictures of.

What do you want to get out of this blog?

I really just want to have a place I can put my new photography and to have a little talk about what they are of and the details I like of them.
I am also looking forward to seeing the change and development of my photography and hopefully seeing the way my style changes aswell as my skills (hopefully)

Would you ever become a professional photographer?
I recently thought about the idea of becoming a photographer at my moms wedding where we had an amazing photographer and friend of my moms. But I am curently studying Media and thinking of applying for that at uni so I guess my photography and the creativity will come in usefull with that.

With all that done, I will say good night.

I will strat trying to put pictures up soon, I am trying to work out how to organise them.
